Inspiration to Start the Work Week
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
The Sunday of the Paralytic reminds us that Jesus has the power to heal us spiritually and physically. As we continue our Lenten journey we make a physical and spiritual effort with fasting, prayer, making time for reflection (it is a good time for the sacrament of Confession), and we can also add prostrations to our prayers. The Lenten Prayer of St. Ephrem the Syrian is very powerful and is usually done with prostrations. I offer it to you below.
Sometimes we can feel a bit paralyzed in the various aspects of our lives, We can feel spiritually stuck. The Lenten season is an opportunity to seek spiritual renewal and make some breakthroughs. Like the paralytic in the gospel we need help and support to come close to Jesus. Your Church family can be that support!
This Wednesday we have the beautiful Presanctified Liturgy to come to receive holy communion in the evening. Prepare by not eating or drinking after lunch. (If you have any concerns, just ask). These Wednesday evenings can be a great source of strength. The service is followed by an lenten meal for fellowship.
Reminding you of your Church family, I am including some pictures from the Sunday of Orthodoxy.
Have a beautiful day and a blessed week!
Love in Christ,
Fr. Paul
